*Please read our notes on installation before installing SDDAS.

1. Download the appropriate file for the platform you are using.
|
|
2. Run the program you just downloaded.
|
| Sun Solaris |
Make the SDDAS-Solaris.sh executable by doing a "chmod 755 SDDAS-Solaris.sh"
on the file you downloaded. After that, type in "./SDDAS-Solaris.sh" from the
command line.

| Intel FreeBSD |
Make the SDDAS-FreeBSD.bin executable by doing a "chmod 755 SDDAS-FreeBSD.sh" on
the file you downloaded. After that, type in "./SDDAS-FreeBSD.sh" from the
command line.

| Intel Linux |
Make the SDDAS-Linux.bin executable by doing a "chmod 755 SDDAS-Linux.bin" on
the file you downloaded. After that, type in "./SDDAS-Linux.bin" from the
command line.

| Microsoft Windows |
Double click on the SDDAS-Windows.exe. An icon will be installed on the
Desktop when it has completed if you allow the installer to do so. The
installer will also put a menu item in the Start Menu if allowed.

| Apple Mac-OS X |
The disk image will mount and a set of icons will appear in the finder window.
Double click the "Install SDDAS" icon and it will install SDDAS on your hard
disk. Drag the SDDAS icon to the Applications folder of your hard disk.

After you run the setup program, a window will
come up to guide you through the install procedure.

3. Start SDDAS!

| Sun Solaris, Intel Linux, Intel FreeBSD |
Change to the directory where you installed SDDAS and in the bin directory,
you will need to run "sdcontrol &". We recommend creating an alias to this
program.

| Microsoft Windows |
Double click on the SDDAS icon or navigate through your Start menu to run
SDDAS. You must install Cygwin before
running SDDAS. Furthermore, you must have an X-server loaded before many
of the programs will run. To start X with Cygwin, type in "startxwin.bat"
from a Cygwin window. You must also install Lesstif with the Cygwin
setup utility.

| Apple Mac-OS X |
Drag the SDDAS icon from Applications Folder to your Dock or double click
the SDDAS icon from Finder.
From the command line, you can start SDDAS by changing to the directory where
you installed SDDAS and in the bin directory, run "sdcontrol &".
We recommend creating an alias to this program or a desktop shortcut to
this program.
