SDDAS Related Software Links

PERL Scripting Language PERL is not needed for most users of SDDAS; however, if you are a server site, you will need it.
GNU GZIP GZIP is required for all versions/platforms of SDDAS. It comes with Cygwin and later versions of Solaris.
Tcl/Tk Scripting Language Some of our programs are written using Tcl/Tk. It is only required for the Mac OS-X platform.
Common Data Format (CDF) CDF is required if you wish to export data from IDFS into CDF format.
Network Common Data Form (netCDF) netCDF is required if you wish to export data from IDFS into netCDF format.
Visualization Toolkit (VTK) VTK is not required for use with SDDAS since it is statically compiled in; however, if you wish to make 3D plots similar to SDDAS, this is what we use.
OpenMotif for Linux OpenMotif was required for an earlier Linux version of SDDAS; however, since we link everything statically, this is no longer required.
Info-Zip's Unzip program for multiple platforms To install SDDAS, you will need the unzip software. This is required for all platforms and is used only by the installer. Once SDDAS is installed, it will not be used.
Cygwin Home Page Cygwin is required by the Windows version of SDDAS. Cygwin is a UNIX emulation layer for Windows. It is easy to install and offers all the utilities of a UNIX system on the Windows platform.
Cygwin/XFree Home Page On the Windows platform, you must also have an X Server. Many commercial ones are available, but if you want a decent free one, this is the only one that works.
Tenon Home Page Tenon offers a X emulation package called X Tools which was needed by an earlier version of SDDAS for Mac-OS X. Currently, we do not use or support this product since it has some issues with our software (specifically the 3D stuff). If you do not need 3D support, this software might still work if you also install LessTif.
Fink installer for Mac OS-X This program is required by SDDAS to install LessTif, Tcl/Tk, and the X-Server and X-Client packages. Fink is fairly easy to use and install.
CLUSTER II Web Site If you just want to look at CLUSTER II data, but do not want to install SDDAS, this web site might be exactly what you need. Many of the functions of SDDAS are available from this simple web based tool.
